TRT Lighting launches new PowerSet NFC Programmer

TRT Lighting has launched the new PowerSet NFC Programmer, providing a faster and more flexible way to configure luminaires in the field.

Designed for use with Aspect Gen2 and Oaken luminaires, the handheld device enables installers and maintenance teams to read and write luminaire settings via NFC without the need for laptops, smartphones or tablets.

The new system simplifies the commissioning process by allowing users to scan a QR code located directly on the luminaire. Configuration options are then loaded onto the remote control, enabling the user to select the required settings before programming the luminaire through its NFC panel.

Previously, customers using NFC programming would typically receive a series of pre-configured QR codes covering specific wattages and dimming regimes. Depending on the size of a scheme, this could result in multiple QR codes being provided for different luminaire configurations.

The new approach provides significantly greater flexibility. Rather than being limited to pre-defined outputs specified at the point of order, users can select power settings in 1W increments, choose between CLO and non-CLO operation, configure DALI settings and select from multiple part-night dimming profiles directly from the remote control.

As a result, lighting settings can be adjusted quickly and easily throughout the life of an installation, helping customers respond to changing requirements without needing new configuration files or additional external support.

The PowerSet NFC Programmer has been developed to withstand demanding outdoor environments, featuring a durable weatherproof housing, sealed keypad and tamper-resistant screws. It also removes the need to open luminaires during programming, helping to simplify maintenance and reduce time on site.

For local authorities, contractors and maintenance teams, the result is a more intuitive, flexible and future-proof approach to luminaire programming.
