Embracing industry, market, and technology advancements over the past decade, this family provides versatility and greater efficiency.

Available in nine sizes – 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 80, 96, 112 and 128 LEDs – the Aspect Gen2 range is adaptable to various lighting requirements. The three larger models are particularly suited for highways, providing robust and reliable illumination.

With CCTs ranging from PC-Amber to 5700K, the Aspect Gen2 provides lighting solutions for various applications, from Dark Sky environments to high-visibility areas such as zebra crossings.

The lantern’s innovative design incorporates a high transmission, flat glass cover, which improves LED efficiency and optimises light emissions, achieving up to 204 LL/CW.

Aspect Gen2 features a universal mounting system and pull-down latches for tool-free access, streamlining installation and maintenance. Interchangeable heads, designed to seamlessly hinge into place, ensure effortless replacements and upgrades.

Optional extras including Lumi-LinQ, shields, National Highways tether and a marine grade finish allow you to tailor your lanterns further.

Hortonwood, Telford

Background

Hortonwood is a newly developed commercial park in Telford that required road lighting for its access roads. Telford & Wrekin Council’s primary objective was to provide a reliable, energy-efficient solution while minimising both energy consumption and long-term maintenance. TRT Lighting was selected to deliver a full lighting design and specify luminaires that would meet these needs, with a focus on efficiency and durability.

Solution

Working in collaboration with Prysmian Contractors, TRT designed and supplied a scheme based around the new Aspect Gen2 luminaire. During the design process, TRT identified that Aspect Gen2 would deliver significant efficiency improvements compared with its predecessor, Aspect Gen1. This enabled the Council to reduce operating costs and environmental impact without compromising on performance. The project marked the debut of the Aspect Gen2 (32 LED version), a modern luminaire designed for a wide range of general area applications. For Hortonwood, 20 lanterns in a light grey finish were installed to integrate with the surroundings. Each unit was supplied at 3000K CCT for comfortable, effective illumination and included manual PowerSet control, allowing on-site adjustment of power output and lumen levels. At just 38W per unit, the lanterns deliver substantial energy savings compared with the earlier generation. Aspect Gen2 also introduces several new features to simplify installation and maintenance. A flat safety glass maximises light transmission while protecting the LED modules. The MountSet universal mounting system allows side-entry or post-top installation across four column sizes without adaptors, reducing installation time. For future servicing, pull-down latches provide tool-less access to replaceable gear and LED modules, while the smooth exterior prevents dirt and water accumulation.

Challenges

Thanks to close collaboration between TRT and Prysmian Contractors, the installation was completed smoothly and on schedule. The Council now benefits from a lighting solution that is:
  • Highly energy efficient, reducing operational costs and environmental impact
  • Durable and reliable, with IK08 impact resistance and tamper-proof security options
  • Easy to maintain, with tool-less access and modular components
  • Future-proof, thanks to MountSet flexibility and optional retrofittable shields

We were looking for a lighting solution that would balance energy efficiency with long-term reliability, and TRT delivered exactly that. The new Aspect Gen2 luminaires have not only reduced our energy consumption but also simplified future maintenance thanks to their modular design. The collaboration between TRT and Prysmian Contractors was excellent throughout, ensuring a smooth installation and a result that aligns perfectly with our sustainability objectives.
