Presteigne Dark Skies have put lighting design at the forefront of transforming Presteigne into the first IDA Dark Sky Community in Wales and mainland England.

One of our local authority clients has varied dimming requirements for differing areas where our LED lanterns are being installed.

The upgrade of Horsefair Underpass from outdated SON and fluorescent luminaires to state-of-the-art X-Range Boost models not only reduced energy costs and enhanced visibility but also ensured compliance with Annex D of BS5489-2:2016. This adherence to regulatory standards underscores TRT’s commitment to delivering solutions that prioritise both functionality and compliance.

Holmesdale Tunnel, located on the M25, is 684m long and opened in 1984. Initially refurbished in 2010 with high-pressure sodium lamps as LED luminaires were not viable at the time. With advancements in LED technology, a new retrofit solution now provides significant benefits such as annual energy savings and, of course, CO₂ reductions predicted to be greater than 60%.

The Cuilfail Tunnel is a single carriageway tunnel carrying the A26 in East Sussex and was opened in 1980. The original lighting was refurbished in 2009 and at the time LED lighting technology for street lighting was in its infancy, let alone the high-powered requirement for tunnel lighting.

The Mumbles is now brighter, safer, and more sustainable thanks to a new lighting installation designed to withstand the harsh coastal environment while preserving the area’s natural beauty.

Via bollards were selected to resolve the unique challenges that coastal locations pose including corrosion, wind exposure and durability in a heavily trafficked area.

The primary aim for changing the exterior lighting at Hereford Cathedral Close was to improve the reliability as the existing 45-watt Cosmo lamped lanterns were continually failing due to ballast and lamp failures, causing high ongoing maintenance costs.
