With over 75 million passengers arriving or departing during 2015, Heathrow Airport continues to increase its footfall year on year. To cater for the continual increase, a number of expansion and refurbishment plans have been implemented across the 1,227 hectare site including the main road tunnels feeding in to terminals 1-4 from the A4.

With excessive numbers of general public using the tunnels 24hrs per day, the need for a robust, reliable and energy efficient lighting solution was paramount to the stakeholders. By choosing the Verso LED tunnel lighting system from TRT, we were able to develop a completely tailored lighting solution to meet the needs of the client from an operational perspective whilst also introducing significant energy cost savings and more importantly a system that can be fully maintained from outside of the tunnel bores to ensure 24hr operation.
