Aspect Gen2 expands with new LED options and dedicated zebra crossing variants

TRT Lighting has expanded its Aspect Gen2 street and highway lantern range, giving lighting designers and highways teams even more flexibility when specifying for different environments and performance requirements.

Aspect Gen2 is now available in nine LED configurations: 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 80, 96, 112 and 128 LEDs. This extends the range of outputs available for everything from footpaths and residential streets through to highway applications. Two new dedicated zebra crossing options have also been introduced, providing targeted performance for pedestrian crossings where visibility is critical to safety.

Developed after more than 12 years of success with Aspect Gen1, Aspect Gen2 reflects how street lighting has evolved over the past decade. Changes in standards, expectations around energy use, maintenance pressures and the need for adaptable assets have all shaped the way the new generation has been designed.

The range is available from 9W up to 307W, with multiple colour temperatures from PC Amber through to 5700K. This allows designers to balance ecological considerations in sensitive environments while still delivering higher visibility in locations such as main roads and pedestrian crossings. The two new zebra crossing variants support clearer illumination at crossing points, helping to improve visibility for both drivers and pedestrians.

Aspect Gen2 has been engineered to make life easier on site and over the lifetime of the asset. A high transmission flat glass cover improves LED efficiency and optimises light output, delivering up to 204 LL/CW. Universal mounting and tool-free access help to simplify installation and routine maintenance, while interchangeable heads allow upgrades to be carried out quickly as requirements change over time.

The range also supports more sustainable design and asset management. Aspect Gen2 achieves a TM66 score of 2.7, indicating strong circular-economy credentials. Optimised optical efficiency helps to reduce lifetime energy use and running costs, and Environmental Product Declarations are available to support more transparent carbon reporting and specification decisions.

Optional extras such as Lumi LinQ connectivity, shields, National Highways tether options, and a marine-grade finish mean the lantern can be tailored to suit different environments and project needs, including exposed coastal locations.

With these latest additions to the range, Aspect Gen2 continues to evolve as a practical, future-ready solution for modern street and highway lighting.
