Job Overview

TRT Lighting (part of the FW Thorpe Group of companies) are looking to expand their Tunnel Lighting Division with the appointment of a new Applications Engineer. The successful candidate will provide our Tunnel Division Team with lighting design and project support. You will be provided with the necessary resources, support, and training opportunities to develop your own personal knowledge, whilst also adding a vital resource to TRT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce lighting designs for both tunnel and handrail projects utilising Dialux, Relux and Relux Tunnel ensuring compliance to applicable lighting standards.
  • Create and edit project drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Publish professional lighting design reports/project proposals for the sales team and customers.
  • Undertake site surveys and be involved in the commissioning and site acceptance tests of larger projects.
  • Provide technical support to the external sales team and customers.
  • Engage in commercial activities such as exhibition stand duty.
  • Any other duties as specified by Line Manager.
  • Willing to work some unsociable hours.

 Attributes & Experience:

  • Familiarity with lighting design packages such as Lighting Reality, Dialux and Relux. Although training will be given.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • ILP or LIA lighting design qualifications are desirable however, training will be provided where needed.
  • IPAF, ECS & First aid trained desirable however, training will be provided where needed.
  • Clean driving licence.
